Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have successfully repelled coordinated terrorist attacks across several locations in the North-East, while also carrying out precision air strikes and rescuing abducted civilians in sustained military offensives.
The Joint Task Force disclosed that the attacks, which occurred on April 22, 2026, targeted communities in Kanama, Ngoshe, and Banki within the theatre of operations. However, the assaults were decisively foiled by vigilant troops who responded with superior firepower and effective control measures, resulting in no casualties or damage.
In a statement issued by the Media Information Officer of OPHK, the military said the failed attacks further demonstrated the troops’ high level of combat readiness and continued dominance in denying terrorists freedom of action within the region.
As part of follow-up operations, the Air Component of OPHK conducted precision interdiction missions, including a strike at about 3:15 a.m. in Sowolowolo, within the Sambisa Forest axis. The operation, carried out after thorough target verification, led to the destruction of remaining terrorist gun trucks, bringing the total number of neutralised platforms in the area to three.
Another precision strike was executed at Kaniram in the Mallam Fatori axis, where terrorists were reportedly regrouping and conducting burial activities for their fallen members. The airstrike neutralised several fleeing insurgents attempting to reorganise.
On the ground, troops of Sector 1 under the 26 Brigade carried out search-and-rescue operations towards the Mandara Mountains, successfully rescuing 15 women and children who had been abducted by terrorists.
In what appeared to be a retaliatory move, suspected JAS elements fired projectiles into Gwoza. However, the attack caused no casualties or damage, according to the military.
The series of successful operations underscore the effectiveness of coordinated air and land offensives by OPHK, as well as the military’s commitment to safeguarding civilian lives while degrading terrorist capabilities.
The Military High Command commended the troops for their bravery and resilience, urging them to sustain the momentum in ongoing operations aimed at restoring lasting peace across the North-East.
