Fresh humanitarian support has reached victims of recent attacks in communities in Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State, following an intervention by US-based charity Equipping the Persecuted.
The organisation has distributed relief materials and financial assistance to affected families in Turan and surrounding settlements, including Abande and Anwase, where many residents were displaced by violent incursions.
The outreach, conducted at Jato Aka in Kwande Local Government Area, brought food supplies, medical support and cash aid to hundreds of survivors currently living in difficult conditions after their communities were attacked.
Officials said the intervention forms part of the group’s ongoing humanitarian operations aimed at assisting displaced and vulnerable populations across Nigeria’s Middle Belt.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Judd Saul, was commended by local coordinators for sustaining international support for affected Nigerian communities through provision of emergency supplies, shelter materials and welfare assistance.
A delegation of prominent local leaders supervised the distribution exercise. The team included former Benue State Government Secretary, Joseph Alakali, politician Raymond Anumve and community leader Fabian Yaga, alongside other stakeholders.
Speaking on the intervention, fundraising and media relations associate at the organisation, Franc Utoo, described the exercise as part of a broader effort to restore hope, dignity and stability to families devastated by violence.
He added that the group, working with its media advocacy arm Truth Nigeria, would continue to combine humanitarian relief with documentation and international awareness campaigns on insecurity affecting communities in Benue and neighbouring states.
Community members who received the assistance expressed gratitude for the support, noting that many displaced households remain in urgent need of food, medical care and security protection.
The organisation reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining relief operations and partnering with local actors and global supporters to help rebuild affected communities and support long-term recovery efforts.
