Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, have intensified logistics-disruption operations across the North-East, recovering about N37 million suspected to be linked to terrorist financing while intercepting critical supplies meant for insurgents.

The sustained operations follow recent successful defensive engagements in Pulka and Madara-Girau, with the military shifting focus to deliberate actions aimed at crippling terrorist supply and financial networks within the theatre.

According to a statement issued by the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, troops of Sector 1, working alongside vigilante forces, carried out a coordinated night ambush along a known insurgent crossing route used by suspected Islamic State West Africa Province elements moving from the Cameroon axis into Nigeria.

The terrorists reportedly ran into effective enfilade fire from concealed troop positions and were forced to retreat in disarray.

A follow up exploitation of the area led to the recovery of a substantial cache of logistics supplies believed to have been intended for insurgent resupply operations.

The statement said, Military authorities interception has significantly weakened the group’s sustainment capability and operational reach in the area, while troops continue further clearance operations to consolidate their gains.

In a separate operation, troops stationed at the Forward Operating Base Chabbal Checkpoint intercepted a suspicious vehicle carrying five occupants. A search of the vehicle uncovered approximately N37 million concealed in bags, along with several mobile phones suspected to be connected to terrorist financing and coordination activities.

Security sources described the seizure as a major breakthrough in ongoing efforts to dismantle financial channels supporting terrorist operations in the region.

Military authorities noted that the coordinated actions reflect a proactive strategy targeting both movement corridors and financial enablers of insurgent activities, aimed at weakening their operational strength and preventing regeneration of combat capability.

The military high command commended the vigilance, professionalism and resilience of troops and collaborating security agencies, assuring that Operation HADIN KAI remains committed to frustrating terrorist activities and restoring lasting peace and economic stability across the North-East.
