The Air Officer Commanding Tactical Air Command (AOC TAC), Air Vice Marshal Michael Ekwueme, has paid an operational visit to the Theatre Headquarters of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation Hadin Kai, at Maimalari Military Cantonment in Maiduguri.
In a statement issued by the Media Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East) Operation Hadin Kai, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the senior Air Force officer praised troops for their resilience, discipline, courage and selfless commitment in the ongoing fight against insurgency in the region.
During the visit, Ekwueme assured the Theatre Commander of sustained and increased air support to further strengthen ongoing operations.
He disclosed that additional air platforms would be deployed to address operational challenges and consolidate recent gains recorded within the theatre.
“I assure you of maximum support and the deployment of more air platforms to strengthen your operations. We remain hopeful that these efforts will hasten the restoration of peace and a return to full normalcy in the North East,” he said.
Responding, Major General Abubakar expressed appreciation for the visit, noting that timely air support has remained a decisive factor in the success of joint operations despite the growing complexity of the security environment.
He also stressed the importance of effective ground to air communication, explaining that improved transition capabilities and sustained training of personnel across sectors have enhanced overall operational effectiveness.
The visit featured operational briefings, exchange of souvenirs, signing of the visitors’ book, group photographs, and a guided tour of the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai.
