The Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has represented Nigeria at the opening of the Dubai Airshow 2025, reaffirming the nation’s growing investment in aerospace innovation and defence technology. He attended the global event alongside Air Vice Marshal A.Y. Abdullahi, who represented the Chief of the Air Staff.
The airshow was formally inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Emir of Dubai and Vice-President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates.
During the opening ceremony, Minister Badaru led the Nigerian delegation on a strategic tour of key exhibition stands and facilities showcasing cutting-edge advancements from leading players in the global aerospace and defence sectors.
The Dubai Airshow, held biennially, is widely regarded as one of the world’s premier gatherings for the aerospace, space, and defence industries. It provides a vital platform for nations to foster technological partnerships, explore innovative solutions, and strengthen international cooperation.
Nigeria’s participation this year underscores the country’s commitment to enhancing its defence capabilities and engaging actively in global conversations shaping the future of security and aerospace development.
