Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), in collaboration with the Air Component, Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), and local hunters, have intensified offensive and logistics disruption operations across key areas of the Northeast, recording major gains between 15 and 22 July 2025.
According to the Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye, the operations targeted Boko Haram and ISWAP elements, leading to the interception of logistics, neutralisation of terrorists, and recovery of arms and critical equipment.
Troops of 114 Battalion intercepted logistics supplies in Madagali LGA, Adamawa State. Items seized included motorcycles, cement, soft drinks, and food. The next day, seven suspected logistics suppliers were arrested with large quantities of consumables likely intended for insurgents.
Troops of the 82 Division Task Force Battalion engaged terrorists around Amuda and Chinene in Gwoza LGA, neutralising one. Another ambush by the 27 Task Force Brigade on 18 July along the Lambawa Kalari road in Kaga LGA resulted in the death of one terrorist and the recovery of weapons. Similar operations between 18 and 22 July disrupted multiple infiltration attempts in Bama, Monguno, and Konduga.
Troops intercepted smuggled petroleum products on the Maiduguri Mafa road and arrested individuals suspected of supplying fuel to insurgents. On 19 July, troops apprehended a man transporting Starlink equipment without authorization on the Kano Maiduguri road, believed to be aiding terrorist communications. A suspected drug dealer heading to Damasak was also arrested with large quantities of tramadol and diazepam.
Additionally, several arms, ammunition, and IED-making materials were recovered, including a cache discovered on 20 July in Takaskala, Adamawa State. That same day, troops foiled a terrorist infiltration attempt in Monguno, seizing RPG bombs and other ammunition.
In another mission On 21 July, 10 family members of terrorists surrendered in Bama LGA, seeking safety from Gashua village. Troops also apprehended several informants and collaborators, including a 15-year-old boy, through intelligence-driven operations.
Troops intercepted a truck on 22 July en route acting on intelligence to Gamboru from Maiduguri, loaded with items including solar panels, inverters, gas regulators, fridges, and food supplies suspected to be destined for terrorist use.
General Kangye reaffirmed the Armed Forces of Nigeria's commitment to dismantling terrorist networks and restoring peace in the region. He also praised the courage and dedication of the troops engaged in these operations.
