The Forum of Former Councillors in Jigawa State has lauded the exceptional leadership qualities of former Governor and current Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, presenting him with an Award of Excellence in Leadership.
Lawan Bala, described Badaru as a “visionary leader whose humility, integrity, and commitment to inclusive development have left a lasting legacy in Jigawa State and beyond.
He noted that the former councillors, have served at the grassroots level, appreciate Badaru’s efforts in strengthening local governance, empowering communities, and promoting peace and security.
Badaru reaffirmed his commitment to national service. He said, the award means a lot because it comes from those who understand the realities of leadership at the grassroots.
The event also featured goodwill messages from community leaders and political associates who praised Badaru’s leadership style and urged continued support for his efforts at the federal level.
The ceremony brought together political stakeholders, traditional leaders, and grassroots representatives to honour Badaru’s outstanding contributions to governance, public service, and community development, both during his tenure as governor and in his current national role.
