Badaru Hosts Former Jigawa Council Speakers and Dutse Emirate Traders Forum

The Minister of Defence Mohammed Badaru Abubakar has hosted the Forum of Immediate Past Local Government Speakers from Jigawa State and the Dutse Emirate Traders Association in his hometown. 


In a statement made available by the personal Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Minister of Defence Mati Ali, the gatherings, which took place over the weekend, celebrated the successful and peaceful completion of the recent Eid el-Kabeer festivities.


The Forum of Immediate Past Local Government Speakers, led by Chairman Alhaji Ali Zarada Gagarawa, included several former speakers who served during Badaru’s second tenure as Governor of Jigawa State.


The members of the forum expressed their continued support for the Honourable Minister and offered prayers for divine guidance and success in his efforts to enhance national security.


In attendance were notable figures, including Alhaji Aminu Sani Gumel, Chairman of the APC in Jigawa State, Abubakar Sadiq Jallo, Member representing Hadejia in the Jigawa State House of Assembly and Ahmed Rufai, former Chairman of Gumel Local Government. Together, they welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the Minister’s initiatives.


Additionally, on Friday, 20th June 2025, the Dutse Emirate Traders Association paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Minister at his residence in Kano, also in celebration of Eid el-Kabeer. 


The delegation, led by Alhaji Yahaya Rungumau, commended the Minister for his unwavering efforts to strengthen security across Nigeria. 


They acknowledged that his initiatives have significantly fostered a conducive environment for trade and commerce throughout the nation.


The Minister expressed gratitude to both delegations for their support and reiterated his commitment to enhancing national security and promoting economic growth.
