President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has paid a morale-boosting visit to troops of Operation FANSAR YAMMA in Katsina State, as part of efforts to assess the security situation in the region and directly engage with frontline personnel.
The President’s visit was carried out without the usual high-ranking military entourage, underscoring his personal commitment to national security and the welfare of the troops.
The President, praised the troops courage and resilience in the face of persistent threats, describing their mission as a vital struggle not only for territorial integrity but for the very soul of Nigeria.
“The fight you are waging here in Katsina and across the country is not just a battle for territory; it is a battle for the soul of Nigeria.
"Nigeria depends on you, and I am with you today, tomorrow, and always. Stay strong. Stay focused, he added.
The Commander-in-Chief emphasized that his presence at the frontline was a demonstration of solidarity and an acknowledgment of the sacrifices made by the troops. He lauded their dedication to securing the nation against terrorism, banditry, and other security threats.
“I stand before you not just as your President and Commander-in-Chief, but as a fellow patriot, deeply humbled by your courage and unwavering commitment to the peace, security, and sovereignty of our great nation,” he declared.
President Tinubu recognized the personal costs borne by the soldiers, acknowledging their separation from family and the risks inherent in their duty.
“You face danger not for wealth or recognition, but for the love of the country. That is the highest form of patriotism.
"You are the shield of Nigeria—the silent guardians of our democracy. He emphasized.
He also reassured the troops of the Federal Government’s continued support, highlighting several initiatives aimed at improving their welfare and operational capabilities.
“We are taking bold steps to equip you with advanced technology, better intelligence, and robust logistics. Your welfare is a top priority—allowances, healthcare, housing, insurance, and family support systems are being strengthened without delay.”
President Tinubu reaffirmed the government’s determination to end insecurity, stating that the battle would be won through the strength, discipline, and resolve of Nigeria’s armed forces.
“This war will not be won by weapons alone, but by your will to stand, resist, and triumph. Nigeria will not bow—not to fear, not to terror, not to treachery. With your valor, peace shall prevail,” he affirmed.
The President’s visit marks a significant gesture of leadership and solidarity at a time when the country continues to confront complex security challenges.
