The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has deepened its counterterrorism operations across the North-West and North-East, delivering coordinated precision airstrikes that dismantled multiple terrorist hideouts and halted a major insurgent offensive.

In a statement issued by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the NAF confirmed that two major interdiction missions were carried out on 27 November 2025 in Katsina State under OPERATION FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY) Sector 2.

According to the statement, the first strike conducted at about 6:30am targeted a heavily fortified base belonging to a notorious terrorist kingpin responsible for kidnappings, violent assaults and cattle rustling across Kankara, Faskari and Malumfashi Local Government Areas. Precision-guided munitions destroyed the camp following detailed Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), while subsequent ISR-enabled engagements neutralised several fleeing fighters.

A second strike executed at about 5:55pm hit another major terrorist enclave in Danfako, Faskari LGA. The operation destroyed key logistics hubs, operational structures and equipment, neutralising several terrorists and further crippling their ability to operate in the North-West.

In the North-East, NAF air power again proved decisive when troops of the 28 Task Force Brigade, Sector 4 of OPERATION HADIN KAI (OPHK), successfully repelled a multi-directional ISWAP/Boko Haram attack on Chibok in Borno State.

Meanwhile, Working closely with ground forces, NAF aircraft executed four major strikes on regrouping insurgents along their escape routes, inflicting heavy losses and disrupting their withdrawal.

Additional precision engagements on fleeing fighters prevented the insurgents from reorganising or mounting a renewed offensive.

The NAF said the successful missions demonstrate its commitment to delivering precise and coordinated air operations aimed at neutralising threats, protecting communities and supporting wider national efforts to restore peace across the country.

The Force reaffirmed its resolve to continue working alongside ground troops and other security agencies to ensure lasting stability in all troubled regions.
