Astonishing and impressive performance from Lagos State contingents at 9th National Youths Game ongoing in Asaba, Delta State, Nigeria. The 'Center of Excellence' are not leaving any stone on turn.
Nonetheless, several sporting events like: Table Tennis, Para-Table Tennis, Karate, Taekwondo, Judo, Ayo, Kunfu, Para-Powerlifting, Weightlifting, Basketball, Fives, Squash, Gymnastics, Shooting, Swimming, Beach Volleyball, Boxing, Football, Cricket, Cycling, Darts, Golf, Rugby, Kokowa (Traditional Wrestling), Volleyball have been concluded.
However, in a Media chat with some sport pundits and spectators; "We can't just discover talents and not prepare them for the future; its paramount also, to mentor, foster, educate, empower them ahead of their career".
Outstanding team Lagos State athletes have won total of 72 medals as they occupying 1st Position with 38 gold, 18 silver, 16 bronze whiles Edo State also known as 'Heat Beat' have amass 54 medals with 27 gold, 11 silver, 16 bronze.
Following closely at third position is the host State, Delta with 107 medals, 23 gold, 27 silver, 27 bronze whiles 'God own State' Abia are sitting forth position with 10 gold, 9 silver, 9 bronze and Kwara are fifth position.
Taraba, Yobe, Jigawa are below the table log, however, the competition and talents hunt programs is still ongoing till Saturday 6th, September 2025 as there will be a thrilling moment with Music entertainment, drama, dance as well as remarking activities to close the sporting fiesta.
In summary, everyone that are participating need adequate attention and welfare reward from the States they are representing as well as better facilities; including more platforms to showcase their talents; skills at National tournament across Nigeria.
